Minneapolis boogie refugee delivers two-sided electro funk fog for thepurple minded. After Daryl "Duke" Wells washed out of The Stylle Band and Prince's Twin Cities scene, he took solace in the Arizona heat and fell in love with Oberheim's DMX drum machine and OB-X synthesizer. His lone 1986 session produced the falsetto funk workout "Lady Luck" and the chop-screwy ballad "Dragon Lady," arriving on 12" via Paramount, California's Communication Records. Our 2025 reissue edits the now-grailed EP down to a manageable 7 inches for easy crate access. Limited to 300 copies.
