  • Kelly Lee Owens' masterful second album "Inner Song" lets the techno producer and singer/songwriter dive deep into her own psyche - she devotes herself to the struggles she has been going through in recent years and explores her personal pain while embracing the beauty of nature.
    "Inner Song" follows her self-titled debut from 2017, a mixture of body-centered beats and introspective songwriting that has received numerous awards from the music press. Since then she has remixed Bjrk & St. Vincent, released an indelible club two-track, "Let It Go" b/w "Omen" in 2019, and teamed up with like-minded author Jon Hopkins for the unique "Luminous Spaces".
    Her new album was also the result of what Owens describes as "the hardest three years of my life", an emotionally charged time which, as she says, "definitely influenced my creative life and everything I had worked for until then" So while the beautiful cover of Radiohead's "Arpeggi" may seem to some as an unconventional way to open their second album, Owens' sinuous interpretation of the classic melody - recorded a year before work on "Inner Song" really got underway - represents the kind of sonic rebirth that is so essential to the aura of "Inner Song".
