  • Jamie Smith aka Jamie XX is a producer, sound tinkerer and a basic sympathiser. We know the shy Brit as the mastermind responsible for the beats of The XX. "In Colour" is his wonderful debut album, which was produced in a period of over six years. Interrupted again and again Smith is working on his solo work to create beats for the band album, to make mixes for Adele, Radiohead or Florence & The Machine or to produce songs by Drake and Alicia Keys. In addition, he completely reinterpreted Gil Scott Heron's last studio album and thus posthumously erected a monument to the late artist
    For his solo album he cooperated with his The-XX colleagues Oliver Sim ("Stranger in A Room") and Romy Madley Croft ("Seesaw" and "Loud Places"). Young Thug and Popcaan can also be heard on perhaps the most unusual track on the album, "Good Times". As a member of The XX, Jamie celebrated great success worldwide, the two albums also reached gold status in Germany.
