In addition to the purely instrumental pieces for piano, his "Liebeslieder-Walzer" stand for folk-like as well as original unique pieces of songful bliss in three-four time. Lyrics, as if taken from life, tell of love, longing, lust, suffering, but also anger and mockery.

The great and much too rarely performed vocal scene is based on three poems, which soloist Benita Valente interprets musically brilliantly and atmospherically.
