Lead trumpeter Freddie Hubbard is at the peak of his powers, while alto saxophonists Nelson and Eric Dolphy (Nelson doubles on tenor) form an unlikely union, honed to perfection. Bill Evans (piano), Paul Chambers (bass) and Roy Haynes (drums) can do no wrong as the rhythm section.
