  • Ten years ago, Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington launched their collaborative project Darkside. In 2013 the duo released their first and for the time being only album "Psychic", because only one year later they put the project on ice again and dedicated themselves to their solo careers instead.
    Following their live comeback in 2018, the Chilean-American electronic musician and singer and the American multi-instrumentalist will unveil their new, second long player "Spiral" in 2021, which Harrington announced as follows, "It felt like it was time again. We do things in this band that we would never do on our own. Darkside is the third entity in the room that just happens when we make music together. "
    They spent a good two years working on the album, along with recording engineers Rashad Becker and Heba Kadry. To do so, they initially rented a small house in New Jersey in 2018. The band spent a week there, making a new song every day. "From the beginning, Darkside was our jam band. Something we did on days off. When we got back together, it was because we couldn't wait to jam together again," Jaar said. That session has already produced six of the nine songs on "Spiral."
    With the song "Liberty Bell" Darkside already presented their first single at the end of 2020, which shows that they continue their characteristic mix of psychedelic rock and electronic music on "Spiral."
