1974's Al Green Explores Your Mind (originally released on HI Records) continues the Mitchelland Green uptempo groovy hard soul alliance. Although more mellow than Green's previous releases, this album reflects only in part the changes WILLIE MITCHELL had begun to weave into his music, giving his productions a lighter feel. This is because Al Green is unique and his style can't be confused with anyone else, no matter what producers do to the arrangements. Contains the classic "Take Me To The River," later also recorded by the Talking Heads and the sentimental "School Days."
