Amblare is the massive, ten-ton brainchild of Matt McGuyer (Off-Ox, Mock Orange), Alex Wallwork (Thunder Dreamer, Faerie Ring), and Bryan St. Pere (Hum). This self-titled album echos the monstrous drums of Hum, the punishing guitar tone of Loathe, the occasional and tastefully chaotic, punk-infused polyrhythms of Pinback, and a simultaneously punchy and glistening production from Mario Quintero (Spotlights) that ties it all together. This eight-song behemoth is as expansive as it is explosive. The near-dissonant blasts of snarling low-end accompanied by McGuyers powerful yet approachable vocals and colossal guitar tone offers the listener a complete scope of sound.
